Basic Birding Part 3: Behavior and Habitat
Mar 20, 2010
Each bird species looks unique; each also has unique ways of acting, moving, sitting, and flying. When we learn these habits, we can recognize many birds the same way we notice a friend walking through a crowd of strangers. Birding by habitat-knowing what birds to expect in any given location and a particular season-gives the advantage of a mental list and an opportunity to sharpen knowledge of bird ranges, habits, and preferences.
