Texas Stream Team: Water Quality Assessment Training

Sep 13, 2010

Texas Stream Team, in partnership with the City of Boerne and the Cibolo Nature Center, are hosting a water quality monitoring training session on Monday, September 13th at the Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm.  Through participation in this free one day event, volunteers will be certified to collect water quality samples through a Federally Approved Quality Assurance Project Plan.  Texas Stream Team Volunteer Monitors collect data for pH, dissolved oxygen, specific conductance, temperature, Secchi Disk transparency, E.coli bacteria, and various field observations.  This is a great opportunity to receive free training and assist in monitoring water quality within the Upper Cibolo Creek Watershed, as well as other water bodies throughout the state.

Participants are encouraged to pack a lunch though time will be allotted to get lunch offsite if necessary. Training is limited to the first 20 participants.  Please Contact Ryan Bass, Watershed Coordinator with the City of Boerne to reserve your place.  830-248-1538   rbass@ci.boerne.tx.us.

Time: 2:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Location: CNC Auditorium and Park
