Application Due May 8, 2009
The Living History Festival celebrates the multicultural heritage of Boerne.
Held at the Cibolo Nature Center's historic Herff Farm at 33 Herff Road in Boerne, the goal is to educate citizens about their legacy: the lifestyles and landscapes of the pioneers, settlers, and ancestors along the Cibolo Creek through re-enactments, demonstrations, story-telling, music, and good food. Therefore, authenticity is important.
This event is destined to become a community wide event in years to come, involving local merchants and other non-profit organizations.
All participants (re-enactors, performers, organizations and vendors) must register to take part in the Living History Festival. In addition, each must submit for publication a brief description of historical context and/or the importance of your activity at the time you submit your application.
Herff Farm is considered a primitive site, with very few conveniences available. Portable generators are encouraged if you need electricity. Port-A-Potties are on site the day of the event. Please provide your tables, chairs, a cash box, change, trash bags, and literature/signage. Spaces vary in size, and you may request what size area you anticipate for your needs, for example 8'x10', 10'x10', 10'x20' and so on. Shaded spots are limited.
Cibolo Nature Center proudly recognizes it's sponsors, partners and the participants who make this event possible. Your donations to CNC contribute toward the preservation of the historic Herff Farm estate, the Cibolo Creek corridor and the Cibolo Nature Center. Please consult with you tax professional to ensure that you contributions are tax deductible. Cibolo Nature Center is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
